The Liebster Award!!!

Liebster Award

Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakaatuhu!

I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award! Maa shaa Allaah, I’ve literally only had this blog for two and a half months yet I already feel the love and welcome from fellow blogger, The Revert Miyabhai! Thank you so much, love! I honestly felt so happy reading that you had nominated me! May Allah bless you.

So what is the Liebster Award, you may ask? Using it in Zara R’s exact words because I couldn’t have said it any better myself:

A Liebster award is a ‘of the bloggers, to the bloggers, for the bloggers’ initiative and you can accept the award by simply following these super fun steps:

  • Uploading the Liebster award logo
  • Giving props to the awesome blogger who nominated you by mentioning them
  • Writing 11 facts about you
  • Answering the questions asked by the blogger who nominated you
  • Spreading the love by nominating 11 other bloggers (who have less than 200 followers) and asking them 11 questions of your own
  • And lastly, letting them know that you nominated them

Okay so here goes, 11 facts about me:

❋ I’m an aspiring minimalist and my wardrobe literally mainly consists of blacks, nudes, grays, and cremes/tans.

❋ Autumn and Winter are my favorite seasons, I can’t stand summer heat, especially as a niqabi.

❋ I’m an introvert and extremely shy person when I meet and talk to new people, but when I get comfortable with you, you’ll see that I’m literally so talkative and always making the corniest jokes lol.

❋ I’m a lazy neat freak and complete germaphobe. I try not to think about it too much because when I do, I literally start to go crazy imagining germs and bacteria everywhere.

❋ I absolutely love the sound of the rain and love getting caught in it, especially when it rains really heavy. It calms me in a weird way.

❋ I am in the works of becoming a Taalibul Ilm (Student of knowledge) and hopefully slowly but surely can then go on to be an Aalimah/Shaykhah in shaa Allaah. Right now I’ve already begun studying Tajweed, the Madinah Arabic books, Thalaathatul Usool, and Umdatul Ahkaam.

❋ I have an obsession with extremely long niqabs and wide abayas/jilbabs that flow with every movement.

❋ I want to go overseas so badly, I’m itching to move to Egypt, Saudi, Qatar, or Kuwait.

❋ I have a huge phobia of insects. Any little thing that can crawl, fly, or just even looks like a bug has to be in far distance from me or I will literally freak out.

❋ I’m huge on fashion, all the while keeping it modest and classy. Zara, H&M, Everlane, COS, Tasnim Collections, and Sunnah Style are some of my favorite stores to shop at.

❋ I don’t watch T.V. I’m always either reading a book or on my phone/laptop binge watching YouTube videos instead.

Wooh, that wasn’t easy to do at all lol. And now for the questions:

What is your favorite childhood memory?

I can’t think of any specific memories but I can say one thing I really always think about and miss about my childhood is how careless and free of worries I was.

How do you fight procrastination?

Unfortunately I don’t lol. I’m like the world’s biggest procrastinator. If anything though, I just make myself do it before I overthink it and talk myself out of not wanting to do it again lol.

What is your favorite season and why?

I’m stuck between Autumn and Winter, but I’d have to say Autumn wins by an inch just because the weather feels just perfect and I love seeing the leaves fall and just the feeling I get is like with no other season.

One thing you would like to change about yourself

One thing I would change about myself is my laziness. It’s like I have so many goals and aspirations in life, but I’m not so quick to just go for them, or I’ll start and then just stop. May Allah cure me of that.

Post your favorite shade of your favorite color

It’s black, plain and simple.

Cake or ice cream?

Oooh, that’s a tough choice… Cake.

Silence or deep intellectual conversations?

In some moments, I like silence, but in others, I love having deep and intellectual conversations. So it all depends on my mood I guess.

What is the one crazy thing you thought about the world when you were a kid? (Eg: that we live inside earth and not ON it)

I used to wonder how people by the South Pole and etc managed to not fall off because the Earth is round, get it, lol. So silly, I know.

One thing you do to relax or make yourself happy(Eg: make funny faces when you’re alone and laugh at yourself, dance)

Does sleeping count? Lol.

A quote, book, place, person that has had a huge impact on you

There’s this one sister I’ve known for years who knows me in some ways more than even my own best friend does. She was the main person who really inspired me to strive for my deen, and she is the one who also motivated me to wear niqab and she was the first niqabi I had met who actually inspired me to want to observe the niqab as well maa shaa Allaah. May Allaah bless her and her family.

One place you’d rather be right now

In my home country, I miss my family so much.

My 11 questions are:

  1. Would you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert?
  2. What is one of your favorite memories?
  3. Who is someone who inspires you to do and be better?
  4. If you could describe yourself in five words, what would it be?
  5. What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
  6. What is one of the craziest things you’ve ever done and would you do it again?
  7. What’s the one thing that people always misunderstand about you?
  8. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
  9. What are two pet peeves that you have?
  10. Would you rather trade intelligence for looks, or looks for intelligence?
  11. If you could have a conversation with someone over lunch, whether living or dead, who would you choose and why?
